How to make a Christmas Snow Globe

Here is how Evan and I made a snow globe:

HOW TO MAKE A SANTA SNOW GLOBE

You will need

  • a glass food jar
  • baby oil
  • waterproof superglue
  • waterproof sealant
  • cotton wool
  • fake "snow" eg  polystyrene, glitter, eggshell
Baby oil, snow, glitter.

For your snow globe you can use a glass jar, with a screw on lid.For this example I've used a baby food jar. Clean well, remove labels, and dry.

A work in progress for me and Evan…

Now you need to choose something to put in your snow globe.  I used a plastic Santa figure!  Superglue this to inside of the lid using waterproof superglue, and allow to dry overnight.

For a base, glue some cotton wool (pretend snow) to some card:

Fill the jar with the baby oil and 'fake' snow, and screw on the lid.  Use sealant around the lid  to make the lid and jar joint watertight:

Superglue the snowglobe onto your snowy cardboard base:

Use a matchstick and card to make a north pole sign:

Finished!
